St. Mark Church is again hosting an Orthodox-based Vacation Church School. This year it is a four day program starting Monday, July 13, and ending Thursday, July 16. Each day we will start at 10am and end at 2pm with snacks and lunch provided for each attendee. Besides learning about this year's theme, activities will include crafts, music, and recreation.
This year's theme is My Orthodox Family. We will focus on not only our mothers, fathers, and brothers and sisters but also our Church family, our community, and our world - the different families we are all a part of and share responsibility for. The Orthodox church is a great diversity of families from around the world each with their own heritage and culture.
Children as young as 3 years old through those starting 6th grade this fall are welcome. Registration is limited to the first 50 children and the deadline is Friday, July 3rd. The registration fee is $20 per child or $30 per family.
As more documents become available we will post them:
2009 VCS Registration Form - One required per family (mail to register)
2009 VCS Release Form - One required per attending child (turn this in on the first day)
Volunteers are needed to help make the week a success and enjoyable for our children. Even if you can only assist one day we would be grateful for your time.
Please contact Ann Prentice (703-866-3036 / prentice@comcor.net) or Rachael Datch (301-980-3755) with any questions or if you wish to volunteer.
